Thoughts on the 4 years of having a dog

This awesome little dude joined our pack four years ago. He drives us mad, but I don't know where we would be if we hadn't got him. He's been a constant, enthusiastic, loving presence through holidays and happy days, work stress and job changes, IVF, pregnancy and parenthood, and everything in between.

He's not always understood the baby, but he's been good as gold around her. Jealous at times, clumsy at times, but gentle and patient throughout.

When we first got him we started talking about our new family as a pack (so he could understand, I guess? 🤣) and it's been that way ever since. Our dog is as much of a family member as any of us, and pack seems more appropriate for any group that has him in it.

I look forward to explaining the significance of this to our daughter, and hope she doesn't get too many strange looks the first time she says it in company.

It's always better...
