Stretching
Thoughts on keeping mentally limber
I try to do more whilst stood in one spot. Twisting or stretching to reach something rather than moving my feet, shuffling into a better position like I’m old before my time. I think this will help me to remain flexible.
This is also a good metaphor for approaching life’s challenges. Try to tackle that problem from our existing situation. Do we already have the tools we need — educationally, emotionally, financially, etc. — if only we’d be willing to stretch a little?
Could we make ourselves more flexible, or supple, as a result of this stretching?
And, to stretch this metaphor further: know when not to stretch on a task. Know when over-reaching could do more harm than good.
